I have searched and gone over all the basics (all the proper password and autologin in the wifi preferences pane, power save state is turned off etc). It does not make sense though since the system Auto logs into the network on boot. Is there any way to disable this pop up and force the system to use the authentication credentials it has stored? Im assuming since the internet works fine and this only happens ever few hours the router itself is either going down, or the system temporarily loses connection thus brining up this pop up. This is extremely annoying and pretty much makes the system useless. It connects fine and wireless works good (even from boot up), but every few hours a "Wirless Needs Authentication" pop up goes up (which already has the password pre-filled), but it brings down net until I physically press the confirmation button. Unfortunately due to location I can't have a wired connection to it in the office, so its connected to the offices 2.4GHz wifi network with a "The Pi Hut" usb wifi dongle (other adapter didn't work so figured this one that was built for the RPi will work with ubuntu).

Its a fresh install with all the latest updates. I have a workstation with Ubuntu 15.10 installed. What are some other things I might try? I've been googling/searching for similar things and trying them but I am at a loss. I've tried using the smbclient via the CLI but if I recall that didn't work either. I have a smb server installed on this machine and I can access it from other machines without issues.

For some reason this machine just wont connect to any shares via Thunar (or any other GUI based file manager as I've tried Dolphin as well). When I use my other Xubuntu system (essentially the same 14.04 install), Thunar is able to navigate with the same credentials I apply to this machine.

Failed to retrieve share list from server. In a varied amount of time I get back a window that says Failed to open "File System". When I use smb://ipaddress it comes up with the required credentials needed, I enter them and then it's like nothing happens.
